Celexa is a prescription medication used commonly for the treatment of major and chronic depression. It is also known by the generic name Citalopram.

One of the most effective treatments for depressive disorders is the use of a medicine that is called a serotonin re-uptake inhibitor. Citalopram is one of these medicines.

Before we go into any more detail, you should be well aware of the fact that not all after effects of any medicine, especially Citalopram, are or have been reported by consumers. That being said, if you should feel anything other than normal or acquire any type of rash while taking this medicine then you should go to a hospital as soon as possible.

The side effects of Celexa vary quite widely. They can effect your nervous system, gastrointestinal system, respiratory system, and many others.

This article is only intended to talk about the more common after effects related to Citalopram. However, we will be showing you links to other pages where you can get a more complete list. We do not believe that anyone should be persuaded into taking a medicine unless they are fully aware of the hazards to their health that are involved.

Some of the more general and common adverse reactions associated with this particular depression treatment are typically nothing to worry about as they will usually start to be less severe and subside in time as your body gets used to taking the drug. These include fatigue, lack of strength, and fever. Remember, if you experience any of these reactions, please seek medical help as soon as possible.

Hot flashes, rashes, hives, and an unusual lack of tolerance for alcohol have also been reported as a negative reaction by consumers. Many of these problems will only effect you in the beginning and start to fade or become less severe after you have taken it for a longer amount of time and your body begins to get used to it.

In very few cases patients have also reported problems such as concentration problems, stiff or rigid muscles, memory loss, nausea, headaches, trouble breathing, and hallucinations. These are considered to be some of the more serious reactions and you should definately report these to a nearby hospital immediately.

You should consider going to find a more complete list of any plausible Celexa after effects if you are thinking about using this medicine as your depressive disorder treatment of choice before consulting with your doctor.
