We spend a lot of time decorating our living rooms and bedrooms, but seldom do we care for our bathrooms. The utilitarian nature of the bathroom makes it unglamorous for most, even if a good amount of time is spent there daily. Bathrooms can be made to look great, however, if you invest a small amount of time and money to decorate them.

Start off by painting the entire bathroom in a rich color. Using deep colors comes with a purpose - this makes small rooms feel larger and more comfortable as the deep colors fade away in the background.

Eliminate any unnecessary clutter! A good way to get rid of the mess would be by putting makeup and shaving cream cans in a safe area, or if there isn't any, try buying baskets at the nearby store. A hamper is something that every well-organized bathroom would need. For smaller bathrooms, get a hamper that you can hang behind the door. You can use a large drawstring bag as an alternative to a hamper. In any case, it serves a good purpose for your bath.

Make your large frameless mirror look interesting. To make the edges look more interesting and to add a makeshift frame, dress it up with bits of fabric. Fabric isn't the only way to spice up your frameless mirror - you can also use wooden strips, pasting them or attaching them to the edges. It would be better if you paint your frames to go with the cabinet's color or design.

A little paint and a little extra cash could help you make your cabinets over. The simplest way to go would be to paint them all black, or you can be creative and give your cabinet a special design. There are several custom finishes you can choose from. If you want, you can also paint the Formica counters. Just make sure to clean the counter completely before applying the primer. Once the paint has dried, finish off the job with several coats of polyurethane. The finish is sure to last for years.

Finally, apply some touches to the bathroom. You have several options on your hand when it comes to detailing the bathroom, but your best bet is to change the shower curtains (either by stitching up or buying new ones) or to slightly touch up your towels with fabric edges. You may not afford a trip to Paris or London, but if you have old calendar pictures of those locations or others, hang them on the wall with the help of some cheap, yet attractive frames. Plants are another option for you, provided the bathroom is adequately lighted.

To cap off this quick and easy process, you can set up a romantic mood in your newly redecorated bathroom with candles and music. You deserve it!
