Stack testing is a process of studying gas emissions and its components in a certain facility. It is also known in other terms such as performance test, compliance test, source sampling test or emission test. This type of assessment was produced to address the concern of many regarding the effects of poor air quality.

The main objective of this is to examine pollutants in the air through the method that is called environmental sampling. This is to make the air quality better and maintain such condition. This is important because extreme levels of certain elements can harm the environment and its inhabitants.

As of the moment, there have been several laws approved to address this problem. This is supported by the many reported cases of human health problems related to air pollution. Certain illnesses have emerged due to constant exposure to air pollutants. Commonly affected areas of the body are the respiratory and circulatory systems.

In addition, offices in power and manufacturing plants have been mandated to take part in an industrial hygiene monitoring. Again, it is given importance in this activity that employees be protected from harmful chemicals. Specifically, this helps in maintaining the optimal level of air substances in the employee's place of work.

Specifically, the procedure involves getting air samples from a particular facility and proceeds in studying its components. In addition, further chemical evaluations are also executed to determine whether the plant adheres to the standards of air quality. Also, this ascertains the employee's exposure to physical and environmental hazards.

Like humans, animals also experience complications associated with air pollution. Several observations have been conducted that toxins in the air can lead to reproductive and birth defects. There is also a link between the mortality of animals and their exposure of harmful chemicals present in the air.

Moreover, there have been some drastic changes in the environment, which are mainly associated with pollutants in the air. One such effect is acid rain, which has high level of nitric and sulfuric acid content. Widely known also are ozone depletion, global climate change and crop and forest damage.

In the end, there is still something that each individual can do to help decrease the pollutants in the air. One of the many ways is to use bicycles for short road trips. Another would be to choose green cars and other environment friendly automobiles. Stack testing should be done by authorities on a regular basis as well.
