Packing up for any sort of move can end up being quite time consuming and stressful. Atlanta movers can eliminate some of the stress if they know a few smart tricks before hand. With a little know-how and a plan of attack, they can complete the chore of packing with ease.

A few rules of thumb apply when packing. To not overload nor make cartons too heavy, only pack up to 50 pounds in each one. Keep like items together, and don't pack items from different rooms inside the same carton. Boxes should be stuffed with crumpled paper so that nothing shakes loose or rattles inside. This is especially important for cartons containing breakables. Don't use cartons with no lid or top closure. Tape along the seams to enforce strength.

When beginning to pack, start with the out of season items first. You are not likely to need these and can be packed and moved out of the way first. You should also load these items first. The things that you use every day should be packed last and also loaded last. Upon arrival you can unload these first and have them at your disposal.

Be sure to keep all parts of things or all pairs of things together. If you need to disassemble something in order to pack it, label the pieces clearly and place them in a plastic bag or container. Pack the parts and hardware together in the same place.

It's very important to wrap all items, most especially fragile ones, in bubble wrap or paper. Don't stack plates on top of each other, place them end to end vertically in the box. Mark the boxes that contain fragile items accordingly and don't mix them in with the other boxes, keep them in a different area and load them on top so nothing heavy is placed on them.

It's important that you mark each box clearly. Write the name of the room it will be going to. It's also helpful to list the items contained in the box on the side. As long as Atlanta movers follow these simple ground rules, this moving experience can be a pleasant one.
