It has been weaved into the series real good that it managed to draw out more emotions from the viewers.
Family conflict. Revenge might be a common theme to a lot of anime. But if it has something to do with going against your family in a battle to death, then that is an entirely different story. But this is exactly what Code Geass has done. And they did it great. In a span of fifty episodes, covering two seasons, the story managed to lay down family issues and the motivations that behind each members actions.
Knightmare frames. The weapons may not be as good as the modern Gundam series but they are competent enough. What makes them great is their ability to both excel in air and close combat. The best thing is, they do not look awkward when they do so. Their designs and built in capacities are also awesome. Of course, the pilots are equally admirable in their own ways.
Story. All in all, Code Geass has a great story.It is gripping, entertaining and dramatic. It is the kind of story that will make you angry because Lelouch is angry, will make you cry because an awesome character just died in the hands of your favorite one.
