Several people are having mental conditions. They want to be getting rid of these disorders so they are seeking the service of medical professionals. These practitioners could be helping them with these situations.

However, there are times that these professionals may also inflict them harm. For this, the patients should report unethical treatment by psyhotherapist immediately. There are some factors that they should consider when they do so.

Warning signs might noticed by the individuals when harassments are experienced. Sexual stories or joked might be told by the practitioners to the patients. Seductive looks might also be given to the clients. The sex lives of patients might also be excessively discussed by them. Their body parts might also be intimately touched. Their clienteles might even be hugged, touched, sat close to, or even lied next to.

The individual might also be experiencing a special treatment from the practitioner. The professional could be asking her for a date. She could also be receiving flowers or gifts from him. She might also be hearing sweet words from the therapist. There are also instances where the therapist will be confiding his personal secrets with her. He might even be changing his business policy just to be accommodating her.

There are several methods that these individuals can do to be able to report these incidents. First, they can go with administrative actions. Typically, these practitioners receive licenses from certain licensing boards. The licenses will allow the therapists to legally practice their professions and render their services. If the patients will file complaints and submit them to these boards, the authorities may suspend or even revoke the licenses of the professionals.

Professional association actions can also be gone with. Memberships are possessed by most professionals with specific associations. Codes of ethics are typically established by these associations that should be followed by all members. After their complaints are filed with the associations, investigations will be conducted by certain officers. Once the guilt of the therapists are proven, they will be banned from these associations. However, their services can be still be rendered although bad reputations will already be possessed by them.

The individual could also be going with a civil action. With this option, she could be filing a civil charge with a court and seeking money for damages. Prior to doing so, she needs to be looking for a good lawyer in representing his case to a court. The lawyer could be suggesting the best option for this endeavor. The client could be engaging in a media circus especially if this therapist is well known.

They can also go with criminal actions. These actions are usually appropriate for those who had sexual contacts with the practitioners. They can contact their local law enforcement agencies and officers will investigate their cases. When they find enough evidence, they can charge criminal cases against the practitioners and serve them with penalties such as fines or prison times.

Whatever actions will be gone with, the durations which these complaints can be filed, their statute of limitations, should be taken note of. The statutes usually last for half year from the incidents. These relationships should not be endured for long time periods.
