We've all been there.
You know, the situation in which your love is being abused. That time when your heart was sinking because someone was taking complete advantage of all that you had to offer and you found it incredibly hard to do anything about it? Yes, that situation.
For everyone who has been there, they are faced with some of the hardest realities of all - the absolute need to walk away and respect oneself.
To be honest, there's an art to this. There's an art to leaving people who don't respect you or treat you like you matter.
On one hand you want to be close with as many potential people as you can and you reach out making an attempt to meets new friends. On the other hand you have this respect for yourself and pride in how you act.
This can be incredibly hard to do at times.
At what point do you hold your head up high and walk away from the relationship?
Your heart. Let your heart tell you what to do. The funny thing about our heart is that it usually knows exactly what we need but it's our mind that tends to override all of it. When you dig into your heart you give yourself the best opportunity to take care of yourself and move forward.
When you know your worth, you start acting like you are worth it.
Now I'm not saying that this process isn't painful - of course it is. But in the end you will be much happier in the long run.
But what hurts more is staying in something and losing all sense of yourself and knowing you could have saved yourself months or even years earlier.
Be courageous and walk away.
Of course, there's an art form in being able to give people second chances and really knowing when enough is enough. Truth is, you really have to dig into your heart when you are in these moments and let your inner wisdom speak.
However, it's important to always remember exactly what you are worth and what you are looking for in your life. If you negotiate for anything less, you can really get the bad end of the deal.
If you want your life to start taking off, you must first invest into yourself and understand what makes you truly special. Without understanding your own magic how could you ever really understand the magic of others?
Live a life full of love and cherish the opportunities that come your way. Don't settle for anything less.
