As a young comic fan of early two thousand and five, the spellbinder may not be news but for the recent generation, it could be. As a way of encouraging the reading habit Marvel Next published spellbinders that was enticing for all those who came across it. With the setting around magic not one but six publications came to be. The story was set around an imaginary high school of John Hawthorne, locate in Salem. The main character to awaken the activities was Kim Vesco. She recently had relocated to that place from Chicago together with her family. Her and her neighbor Chad Barrow attended the same school. He assured her that everything would be alright for her if she kept away from magic and was approachable.
To her surprise an air elemental challenged her but luckily enough Mink and Liza Beth saved her. An enchanted wall also faced her. This was not the ideal first day for her. She came to the knowledge that she could speak to phantoms and evoked a crowd of them. They gave her instructions to unite the witches and warned about the pillar of smoke.
When at school, the lab caught fire while shes inside. She was able to save herself from the fire. Her neighbor asked her to join a party that was being almost due. As they engaged, he learned that shes adopted. The witches also learning of this, concluded that shes of their caliber. They performed rituals to protect her. We could say they overlooked the physical.
Later that night, she was attacked by an evil monster. Renata confronted the attacker who saved himself by becoming a bird and flew away as the others came into view. They realized that their protection was not against physical attacks. Renata had the capacity to change into different things.
They utilized the opportunity to inform her about their background, the Thief and the Pillar if smoke. They explained that the thief had the ability to copy their powers and render them powerless. They requested her to accompany them to the pillar. She went with them even after she had declined. On their way deep into the woods they put up snares to put off any followers. Behind them Chad was not put off by all this.
He killed the guardian of the artifact and turned to the team. He was the new thief. He destroyed the pillar and overshadowed them. They found themselves at a world where their witchcraft was futile. As ordered, she expressed her regrets and found herself in a place with flying skeletons sand corpses. She learned that she was the keeper.
Meanwhile, the others escaped the original thief back. Back in Salem they found other witches defenseless and Chad was bringing back to life his dead girlfriend. They stopped him and he died. Leaving school, Kim was assured that everything was bound to work well.
