What fake grass is today is nothing close to what it was during its first introduction. Back then, it was something simple and full of failures and many other horrible things. Fortunately, tremendous improvements in these products have been realized through technological advancements and persistent research. So far, they have managed to go through 3 generations, with the current variety being a third generation artificial turf. This is worth knowing about Florida Synthetic Grass.

Today, this product has not only evolved but also includes desirable features. For example, the products have been made to last longer and comes with a soft texture. The product can last for over 10 years after installation. They are an excellent choice since they are able to last for a long time despite exposure to extreme weather conditions and regular use.

There are various features that make a turf including infill, thatch, blades and backing. A plastic known as polyethylene is used to make the blades. This material is the same one found in common products like bottles and plastic bags. It is during the process of production that color tone is introduced into the product to give the product its color.

During the process of production, the polyethylene material is added with UV resistant additives. These additives make the blades maintain its color for a long period of time. This means that the turf maintains its green color despite being exposed to harsh weather or regular use for over ten years.

A tufting machine handles the production process. Part of the production process involves insertion of blades into the backing of the product. This is followed by provision of further support for the backing by addition of adhesives to hold the blades. Specialized adhesives meant exclusively for use in this job have been invented. They are formulated such that their grip is long lasting.

More and more people as well as companies are dropping the use of natural grass and adopting the synthetic turf. There are several different reasons why people are making the switch. Some of these reasons are specific to individual homeowners and companies, while others are universal. One of the major reasons is that fake turf can be installed in any place where natural grass would be difficult to grow.

For example, growing grass in seasons or countries that experience excess cold or hotness is very difficult. To add on this, natural grass is not allowed adequate recovery time in sports which make intensive use of arenas. This means that its growth is adversely affected. This is where artificial turf comes in handy since it can be used severally without the need for recovery time.

On the other hand, maintenance is necessary for both natural and synthetic turf. More maintenance is however needed for natural grass. The activity of maintenance involves regular raking in order to remove debris inside the blades. One can also choose to use a leaf blower to remove the rubbish. If the place is occasionally subjected to heavy traffic then it is likely to experience fallen blades. This can however be fixed by having the lawn brushed in a direction opposite to the fallen blades.
