New opportunities are available for women owned businesses interested in doing business with the federal government. By completing their Women-Owned Small Business or WOSB Registration, firms who meet the registration criteria may bid on special set aside contracts. To register, the small business must be owned at least 51% by women.

Federal contracting regulations mandate that at least 5% of all contracting dollars be awarded to women owned businesses every year. During fiscal year 2013, nearly $20 billion was awarded to women owned businesses, totaling over 260,000 contract awards. In order to qualify for and bid on these set aside contracts, interested businesses must complete the proper registration.

The only way to gain access to these coveted contract awards is by completing WOSB registration. The registration process for this program is very intense and requires many pages of supporting documentation. Filing the wrong form or omitting important information can lead to problems completing registration or even legal penalties. For these reasons, it is recommended that interested businesses seek help from a third party registration firm rather than attempt the registration on their own.

US Federal Contractor Registration has helped thousands of businesses complete required registrations in order to qualify for federal contract awards, including WOSB registration. Their team of experienced Case Managers guide businesses through the registration process and help them find success in government contracting.
